Gayle Erdrich-Tucker Memorial Fund

Gayle Erdrich-Tucker passed away on October 9, 1993 after a two and a half year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and two bone marrow transplants.

The immense expenses for the second transplant were partially offset by the overwhelming generosity of many, many friends in the furniture industry who responded to a special public plea for funds. Their thoughts, prayers and love can never be forgotten.

The Erdrich family therefore felt the best way to perpetuate Gayle's memory was to establish a fund in her name which could serve the extended furniture family in the MD/VA/DC/DE Shore area. Monies remaining from the bone marrow fund plus a generous contribution from the Erdrichs combined with support from the MD/VA/DC Reps Association and others was the initial funding on which the foundation was established.

What Does The Fund Do?

The Gayle Erdrich-Tucker Memorial Fund was established 7 years ago to provide financial assistance to any person associated with the local furniture industry with emergency medical-related expenses. The Fund is designed to provide help for everyone, including reps, retailers, their employees and their immediate families, in the Washington/Baltimore/ Northern Virginia/Lower Delaware and Eastern Shore areas.

Funds are available for many medical expenses that may not be covered by insurance, such as ambulance and prescription costs, home health aids and non-durable medical equipment, among others.

It is the goal of this fund to serve as many furniture family members in need of this assistance as possible.
